Waste collection (Kolada)

Number of kilograms of household waste collected per adjusted population in Umeå municipality. Household waste includes food and residual waste (formerly called vessel and sack waste), bulky waste including garden waste, hazardous waste, comparable waste from, for example, shops, offices, industries and restaurants, and the part of household waste covered by producer responsibility (packaging, newspapers, electrical waste, batteries, etc.), although it does not fall under municipal cleaning responsibility. The number of inhabitants is adjusted to take into account holiday homes, guest nights and commuting. Municipalities with significantly more holiday homes or with extensive tourist activity generate significantly more household waste than what municipalities with mostly permanent residents generate. In municipalities with large commuting surpluses, much household waste is also generated through the workplaces. By using an adjusted number of inhabitants, the amount of waste per person is more accurately reflected for the municipality, which facilitates comparisons with other municipalities. The data set is collected from Kolada

In Kolada everyone can search data about Umeå municipality. A new request for data is made to Kolada once a month.
